A combustion test chamber is introduced to investigate the burning behaviour of propellant sandwiches under constant pressure up to 10 MPa. The window chamber allows the observation using photographs, IR-cameras, pyrometers and spectrographs. Examples of the measurement of linear regression rates during the diffusion controlled combustion of gelled propellants and cryogenic solid propellants (CSP) are presented that confirms the applicability of the device.
