Title
Real-time data link for wireless implantable applications
Abstract
For rehabilitation applications, an implantable device was developed that samples and wirelessly transmits biosignals to control a robotic prosthesis. In addition, the unit is wirelessly powered through an inductive energy transmission system. The data link was developed to permit real-time transmission at 260 kbps. Furthermore, the link system is bidirectional and ideally it has neither data leakage nor data error. The connection can support up to 10 virtual channels with 10 bits resolution with a 2 kHz sampling. Finally, the results also include the tests with different antenna configurations in different environments to check the feasibility and quality of such a system.
