Titel
Procedure for the validation of fatigue life on structural parts
Abstract
When designing new highly loaded structural components there is often the problem to define requirements with respect to load assumptions and fatigue life. But it is decisive for an optimal design to achieve such information at the beginning of the development process, to design with respect to the occurring service loads using suitable materials and finally to validate the design by tests. This presentation will show general possibilities which can be adapted to different applications, starting with measurements, defining of design spectra, FE-calculations, elaboration of test requirements and test procedures. Two examples will show typical applications on a damage case in chemical engineering systems and on the design of hangers of a missile structure.
