Facade and window climbing robots for cleaning and inspection
Abstract
In public buildings as well as in the private sector overhead tasks, deficient amount of spece and weak facade structures make facade and window cleaning and exhausting and more and more dangerous job. The increasing automation capabilities enable to leave this work to cleaning robots. The specific requirements on the robot system are in terms of weight, dimension, control, level of autonomy, power supply and of course cleaning properties. Fraunhofer IPA is developing a procedure for facade and window cleaning robots based on these requirements.
