Rehabilitation techniques in Ambient Assisted Living, which concentrates on supporting persons with special needs, is viewed as one of the most promising areas of AAL (Ambient Assisted Living). Thus these technologies for rehabilitation constitute a major research area within AAL research. A large number of new technologies have been developed in R&D projects for rehabilitation in recent years. Lots of project results in form of applications and prototypes have been developed. This section contains important work on technologies to support people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, on robotics for remote motor rehabilitation, smart home technologies to help people with cognitive impairments, Tele-Rehabilitation approaches, Cardiac Rehabilitation solutions and Computer Vision Access Technologies, but all focused on Ambient Assisted Rehabilitation. Authors from Northern America, Australia and Europe highlighted their work in Ambient Assisted Rehabilitation in the following six chapters.
