Dynamic requirements in axis-redundant laser cutting
Abstract
Dynamic Requirements in Laser Cutting with Redundant Axes. Laser cutting offers technologically high cutting rates which cannot be fully exploited in complex contours that are currently common in blanked parts. Dynamic limits of the laser-moving systems can be extended through a redundant axes approach. This paper describes and discusses a theoretic analysis of the dynamic demands this application places on an ideally redundant system of direct linear drives and a galvanometer scanner. The analysis shows a significant influence of the part geometries on the dynamic requirements which may critically stress the scanner system.
