Titel
True-amplitude angle migration in the presence of noise
Abstract
The true-amplitude angle migration works directly in angle/azimuth domain at the imaging point allowing complete control of imaging contributions. Limiting these contributions to specular contributions allows speed-up of migration, but more importantly it allows reduction and better control of noise. Here, we demonstrate our implementation of the algorithm on field data from a noise prone area offshore Norway. By limiting the contributions around the structural dips, hence reducing the noise. we are able with higher confidence to image the amplitude anomalies in this exploration example.
