Titel
Fused generic geospatial- and meta-information for situation- and crisis-management using OGC- and STANAG-services
Abstract
To assist in the analysis, decision and leadership in crisis situations, the Fraunhofer IOSB developed the Digital-Situation-Table (DigLT) which supports a staff in dealing with critical and complex situations. The DigLT offers an interdisciplinary team a uniform situation overview and a subject-specific detailed view at the same time. To achieve this, the digital situation table is designed as a multi-display system. It consists of a horizontal rear projection screen (table-display), a vertical LCD display and tablet PCs (the fovea tablets ®). The table-display shows the geographical overview of the situation. The fovea-tablets are put on top of the table-display, providing a higher resoluted image of exactly the area they were covering via a tracking mechanism and thus compensating the lack of resolution of the rear projection. On the vertical secondary monitor, metadata and secondary information are displayed, which do not fit into the map image and therefore should not be displayed there. These are, for example, live sensor data, text messages and metadata of geo-objects. The DigLT-GIS-viewer can combine data from different data sources and standards to a dynamic ma. The two most important standards are the OGC services (such as WFS and WMS services) and, on the military side, a CSD (Coalition Shared Database) according to STANAG specifications. The DigLT-GIS-viewer is not limited to stationary use only but can also run on any Windows- or Linux-based mobil system. Thus, a user can work directly at the site of the location, editing and writing information to the common database.
