Abstract

The purpose to develop new products for use in the field of heating elements is linked with the task to develop new and innovative solutions to quicker achieve the working temperature with lower power consumption while reducing the manufacturing cost in order to increase the marketability. In the framework of cooperation between industry and applied research being supported by AiF, the idea was to develop and implement an innovative high-performance heating element using standard coating processes. For this it was necessary to formulate an appropriate dispersion and select the matching process for the processing and adaptation. High performance heating elements, based on the CNT (carbon nanotubes) coatings, significantly reduce the production cost by their ease of use and of course by their excellent electrical and mechanical properties. Furthermore, the heaters are being operated with a supply voltage of 230V and they achieve a temperature of 100 to 150°C. In the short term the peak temperature could also reach 250°C.
