In this article the parameter probing error according to the national guideline VDI/VDE 2630 is determined for the circular and helical sampling of spherical objects using cone-beam computed tomography. In order to be able to evaluate exclusively the acquisition geometry, simulated data sets are used for the determination of the parameters. Due to the completeness of the data a significantly lower probing error is to be expected when applying helical CT, especially in the upper and lower border areas.
