Abstract
DE 102009048397 A1 UPAB: 20110425 NOVELTY - The method for the production of surface-modified particle or coating in an atmospheric-pressure plasma, comprises producing plasma through a discharge between electrodes in a process gas, where one of the electrodes is sputtering electrode (16) by which particles are sputtered through the discharge and subsequently the particles are modified in the plasma. The surface modification of the sputtered particle is carried out in the area of the relaxing plasma. The surface of the particle is modified so that the particle is applied in contact with a chemical component. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The method for the production of surface-modified particle or coating in an atmospheric-pressure plasma, comprises producing plasma through a discharge between electrodes in a process gas, where one of the electrodes is sputtering electrode (16) by which particles are sputtered through the discharge and subsequently the particles are modified in the plasma. The surface modification of the sputtered particle is carried out in the area of the relaxing plasma. The surface of the particle is modified so that the particle is applied in contact with a chemical component. The particles are coated in the plasma and are deposited together with coating precursor compounds on a substrate and the coating is formed with the particles dispersed on the coating. The coating is a plasma polymer coating. The discharge is operated through a pulsed direct current voltage. The average sputtering rate is /-10-4 cm3/min during sputtering the sputter-electrode. The sputtering electrode is rotated or oscillated. The sputtered particle has a particle size in nanometer- to micrometer range. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a composite material; and (2) a plasma nozzle for the production of surface-modified particle or coating. USE - Method for the production of surface-modified particle or coating in an atmospheric-pressure plasma useful for the production of composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method ensures easy and efficient production of surface-modified particle or coating in an atmospheric-pressure plasma with good quality.
