Titel
Modeling and simulation of fiber dynamics in nonwoven processes
Abstract
Our institute is working on the modeling and simulation of fiber dynamics since about ten years. During this period we have developed and implemented a tool to compute the dynamical behavior of fibers. The modeling is based on rod theory balancing all acting forces. Turbulent effects caused by surrounding flow are modeled by means of stochastic aerodynamical forces. Fiber-wall and fiber-fiber interaction lead to additional forces. The simulation of fiber dynamics is shown with respect to different aspects on several industrial examples.
