Abstract
To determine any delay in the formation of HO[2] and its yield in the OH-initiated oxidation of benzene-d[6] by cycling experiments (system OH/C6D6/O2/NO). Determination of the reaction rate constant of HO[2] + NO, which had been measured before only at low pressures, for use in our cycling experiments and in atmospheric chemistry models. To perform simple experiments sensitive to the proposed direct formation of phenol from OH + benzene.
