Abstract
Value stream mapping is a method increasingly used to enable the mapping of door-to-door information and material flows in a factory. Growing product variations and complexity call for the support of simulation tools. When using conventional simulation systems, modelling complete door-to-door production becomes an expensive and time-consuming undertaking. In this article, the authors present a simulation method that suits the practical requirements of value stream mapping.
