Abstract
WO 2010149152 A1 UPAB: 20110117 NOVELTY - The method involves exposing sample (1) of a material within a chamber (2) to a gas or gas mixture, where the chamber is not transparent to electromagnetic radiation. The gas or gas contained in the gas mixture is adsorbed at a surface of the sample, and the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the sample is detected by an optical detector (3). Measurement signals of the detector are captured using time resolution and are evaluated within a definable time interval to determine the surface temperature and/or adsorption heat of the sample. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a device for determining adsorption of gas on material. USE - Method for determining adsorption of gas e.g. helium, nitrogen, hydrogen, methane, ethane, propane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, hydrogen sulphide, butane, and ammonia (all claimed) on material e.g. copper (II) benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate, large-pore iron (III) carboxylate, porous chromium terephthalate and active coal. ADVANTAGE - The method evaluates the measurement signals of the detector within the definable time interval to determine the surface temperature and/or adsorption heat of the sample, such that surface properties of the material can be determined within a short time, with reduced system expenses and with sufficient measurement accuracy.
