Automation in the german food industry
Abstract
The common porker refuses to produce standardized pork chops, and even veal sausages shy away from uniformity. Despite this contrariness automated processes do have a long tradition within the German food industry. Elsa and Julien Huen from the department of Industrial Engineering at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, IPA, discuss the present situation and look at what still remains to be done.
