Abstract
A symbolic procedure utilizing 3 x 3 rotation matrices has been introduced for the diagonalization of Maxwell's equations in general bi-anisotropic media. The resulting diagonalized form has been transformed into the corresponding isometric eigenform in the spectral domain. The associated eigenpairs have been used to calculate eigenvector- and eigenvalue derivatives to any order, and to any degree of accuracy. As an example asymptotic expansions of dyadic Green's functions have been discussed.
