Titel
Helicon diagrams of periodically laminated semiconducting plasma
Abstract
The method consists of the transmission of a transverse electromagnetic wave underneath the plasma edge in presence of an external magnetic field. In the special case described, a microwave of frequency 56.5 GHz was transmitted through parallel sheets, 480 mu m thick, of indium-antimonide, doped with tellurium, at temperatures between 30 and 300 K, in the presence of a magnetic field of up to 6 T. The calculated electron densities agree with measurements on homogeneous samples, suggesting that the surface perturbations may be interpreted as a reduction of mobility below the theoretical value.
