EP 2172159 A1 UPAB: 20100420 NOVELTY - The head (1) has coupling bellows (3) made of polymer e.g. polar plastic, and comprising a coupling region (4) for coupling to a patient. Nano-particles comprising polar functional groups are provided at an outer side (5) of the coupling region, where the nano-particles are formed as carbon-containing particles and nano-diamonds. Organic groups are coupled to the nano-particles, where the nano-particles contain functional groups with acid-and/or base function. The nano particles with carboxyl groups are provided at the coupling region. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for production of a shock wave head. USE - Shock wave head for a shock wave treatment i.e. extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, device. ADVANTAGE - The shock wave head is designed such that the head provides optimal sound-acoustic conditions by the coupling region, thus preventing formation of air pockets and cavities, and providing the head with improved wettability. The nano-particles are provided at the outer side of the coupling region and on exterior of the coupling bellows, thus cleaning the entire coupling bellows in a simple manner, and reducing usage of cleaning chemicals, and hence producing the shock wave head in a simple and cost effective manner.
