Titel
Reactive power supply by distributed generators
Abstract
Distributed reactive power supply is necessary in distribution networks for an optimized network operation. This paper presents first the reactive power supply capabilities of generators connected to the distribution network (distributed generators). In a second step an approach is proposed of determining the energy losses resulting from reactive power supply by distributed generators. The costs for compensating these losses represent the operational costs of reactive power supply. These costs should be taken into account in economically optimized network operation. Finally, a decentralized approach for considering these costs in voltage control is described.
