Assembling a ready-to-use car from raw materials and component pieces requires innumerable production processes and plants. To monitor and control this highly sophisticated process, production monitoring and control systems are deployed. Today's world is marked by continuous change and enhancements. To remain competitive, manufacturing enterprises must be utterly adaptive, responding quickly to the situation and requirements of the market. Thus, the technology has to be equally flexible. Any change in the production process has to be considered and the equipment has to be re-configured and re-customized. This also includes the re-generation of the process visualization for the production monitoring and control systems. This article will present a module that automatically generates the process images in the ProVis.Visu® process visualization system using the information of a CAEX file. In addition to visualizing equipment, ongoing processes and processed products have to be represented. An approach to the practice-oriented representation of products and processes will be described.
