Abstract
DE 102008047658 B3 UPAB: 20100214 NOVELTY - The sensor has a mechanical micro-resonator comprising an excitation device for optical excitation of mechanical oscillation of the resonator. A selection device detects the oscillation, and has wave guides (7, 7') for optical selection of the oscillation of the resonator. The wave guides are realized together with the resonator on a dielectric or semiconductor substrate (1) of silicon. The excitation device has an optical fiber (5) realized on the substrate and optically connecting an excitation light source (6) i.e. LED such as laser diode (8), with a proximate surroundings of the resonator. USE - Gas sensor for analyzing a gas composition (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The wave guides, the micro-resonator and the optical fiber are realized on the substrate, thus realizing a compact and insensitive assembly of the gas sensor, permitting analyzing of gas composition in the surroundings such as medical examination arrangements, with strong electrical fields and explosive or easily flammable medium, and preventing misalignment of the sensor with the excitation device and the selection device while reducing adjustment complexity.
