Abstract
We concentrate our attention on the research for p-conducting materials with high bandgap for improved integration in p-i-n solar cells. We show alternative techniques for synthesis of p-conducting materials with a wide band gap and our progress in improving these materials concerning doping and structure. We present results of the research on ptype delafossites, proved by Seebeck measurements, synthesized by sol-gel technique, in particular CuCrO2 und CuAl1-xCrxO2:Mg, and also by sputtering techniques, in particular CuAlO2 and CuCrO2. Furthermore, we could considerably lower the relative high synthesis temperature of the delafossite by systematic doping and annealing in oxygen-deficient atmosphere. Synthesis temperatures below 700 °C were reached for the first time by the sol gel route.
