Adaptability in logistics management is presently being looked at from different angles. The search for possible configuration parameters brings the customer order decoupling strategy to the fore. While in the past these parameters were defined once at the beginning of the product life cycle, this strategy appears inadequate in today's turbulent business environment. Apart from an increased planning frequency, a detailed, precise and comprehensive analysis of the current business situation is required in order to develop a customised strategy. This paper describes the adjustment variables and influencing factors of a customer order decoupling strategy, points out the basic interaction of these parameters and presents an approach for supporting the planning of the customer order decoupling strategy.
