Titel
Modeling the magnetic properties and dynamic behaviour of MRF-valves in flow mode
Abstract
In comparison with electro-rheological fluids (ERF), magneto-rheological fluids (MRF) possess advantages as far as performance and utility characteristics are concerned. They are utilized in semi-active shock absorbers and axially symmetrical valves. Their disadvantage and a main obstacle in their application is in the creation and dimensioning of the magnetic field and its influence on dynamics. Together with calculation fundamentals, this paper will describe a procedure for the static and dynamic design of MRF valves. The model presented is suitable for simulating the non-linear properties and the dynamics of MRF valves in hydrostatic drives.
