Virtual reality in product development

Today, Virtual Reality is used in different kinds of industries, e.g. automotive and aerospace, and provides potential for reduced product development costs and increased product quality. The presentation introduces the components of an immersive Virtual Environment and points out application areas throughout the product development. The main benefits of Virtual Reality are summarized and example applications at the Fraunhofer IPT and in industry are presented.
