Abstract
NOVELTY - A surface region is illuminated from three directions and imaged as lines with a line scan camera (21). The camera is synchronized with the light sources (10-12) which each pulse at different times, with a frequency greater than 1kHz.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an arrangement for inspecting the surface of a moving object.
USE - For inspection of strip or sheet like surfaces, such as rolled metal products.
ADVANTAGE - Ability to differentiate between different surface anomalies.
